The Psychoanalytic Frame (Online Course)
February 19 through May 7, 2026 | Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:00 PM (Eastern)
[15 CE Credits for Psycoanalysts, Psychologists, and Social Workers]
This course will examine the elements of the psychoanalytic frame – the ground rules that make treatment possible – and examine how the frame is created in the initial sessions, including establishing the contract, the frequency, the hour, and the fee, and addressing regulation of stimulation and use of the couch. We will examine issues such as how to work with resistance to the frame, how and why (or why not) to break the frame, and boundary violations.
