The Research Program consists of PT 171, Systematic Investigations & Ethics, PT 172, Clinical Investigations in Psychoanalysis & Ethics, PT 271, Research Practicum & Ethics, PT 272, Findings in Psychoanalytic Research & Ethics, PT 524, Psychoanalytic Writing Practicum, and PT 527, Research Supervision. PT 171 and PT 172 are taken early in training to acquaint students with trends in research within the human sciences as well as psychoanalytic research methods that have gained general acceptance within the field. Students enroll either in PT 171 and PT 172 or PT 271 and PT 272 upon advisement.
