OCTOBER 18: “IN TREATMENT.”
HBO’s controversial show depicts the
work and life of psychotherapist, Paul Weston. In an episode from the second
season, Weston encounters a patient’s erotic transference and struggles with
his countertransference reactions. His clinical approach is compared with that

NOVEMBER 1: “FOREVER FAMILIES.”
Presented in conjunction with the Adoption Circle,
this documentary is for all those touched by adoption.
Told by seven adult adoptees, all of whom were adopted
by single parents, the film addresses issues of loss, birth
families, and trans-racial issues and offers advice for
adoptive parents, pre-adoptive parents, and professionals.
Sherry Fine, MSW, film producer, is a clinical social worker in New York City and a
single parent of two internationally adopted children.
NOVEMBER 8: “ABOUT SCHMIDT.”
In this 2002 film, Jack Nicholson stars
as an insurance actuary whose life changes with retirement and the death of
his wife. He embarks on a journey to find meaning in his empty existence
and eventually finds it, particularly through written correspondence with an
