THE ANALYST DREAMS: Joan of Arc Meets André Gregory
Embarking on a psychical adventure, Josie Oppenheim allowed a dream to shape aspects of her reality for over a year. With this experimental essay, she returns to tell the tale and in so doing deconstructs the psychoanalytic terrain--fantasy, grandiosity, consensual reality and hallucination. It's a wild ride down Alice's rabbit hole and back again as she endeavors to bring the creative force of a dream out of Wonderland into life.
Josie Oppenheim, MA, NCPsyA, LP, is a psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. She was cofounder and Director of the Stella Adler Conservatory Theater and is the author of numerous articles on child development, child and adolescent substance use and creativity.
