
The Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies, founded in 1971, holds an
absolute charter from the State of New York to offer a Certificate in
Psychoanalysis and is recognized by the State of New York as a licensurequalifying
institute for those seeking licensure in psychoanalysis.
Modern Psychoanalysis rests on the theoretical framework and clinical approach of Sigmund Freud and the innovative techniques of Hyman Spotnitz and
Phyllis W. Meadow. Its cornerstone is emotional communication, the practice of
